the bulk feed systems Sublimation ink is a heat-activated dye that transfers into
a specially prepared surface when it reaches a certain temperature. Under heat and
pressure, ink is permanently bonded to the substrate, which may be a plastic, stone,
plastic, wood, metal, acrylic, or even glass. Again, while the possible list of substrates
is endless, the surface must be properly prepared with a polymer coating to permit
the proper ink transfer. Not any surface will do! Unlike normal inks, when printed
onto paper sublimation inks produce an image that looks dull and muted. Only when
the inks are heated under a heat press will the colours pop and spring to life. However,
in order for the colours to match what you see on your computer screen, and for colours
to match what your customer requires, you must have colour profiles installed.

You will need these profiles which are inserted into your graphics software in order
that your colours will transfer properly. A new ink that has just arrived on the
market is the Sublijet-R. This is a gel ink and is used in the new Ricoh desktop
printers. This ink is available only in cartridge form; however, high volume users
should not despair as Ricoh cartridges are high capacity and provide a much greater
yield.
We are pleased to offer official licensed brand of sublimation ink: Visi-Sub. Visi-Sub
inks come in two forms: cartridges and bulk bottles up to 500ml. The bulk bottles
are suitable for high volume users and are used to refill bulk ink systems lowering
the sublimation print costs. Cartridges are much easier to use and are more suitable
for the infrequent user.
There are a number of options available for transfer paper. However, care should
be taken when choosing which paper to use in order to achieve proper colour matches.
In general, inks are matched to specific paper and ink profile, and if used in conjunction
with one another there should be no reason why you don’t get perfect prints every
